Dr. Howard Goldstein
of Auburn University
HOWARD GOLDSTEIN is an Associate Professor of Music at Auburn University, where he teaches music history and violin, and is Music Director of the Auburn University/Community Orchestra. Dr. Goldstein holds degrees in conducting and violin from the University of California and the Peabody Conservatory of Music, where he served as teaching assistant to Frederik Prausnitz. Since coming to Auburn in 1992, he has guest conducted the Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra, the Alabama Youth Symphony, and the Columbus (GA) Symphony, where he is Assistant Conductor. He has also guest conducted orchestras in Baltimore, New York, and the Czech Republic. His articles on musical theatre appear in the New Grove's Dictionary of Music, Revised Edition.
