I-Hsuan Huang
I-Hsuan Huang is an active soloist, chamber musician, and music educator. Her teachers include Kim Kashkashian, Paul Neubauer, and Toby Appel. She has performed solo concerti with orchestra, solo recitals, chamber music concerts, and served as viola principal in concert hall venues that include Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Spain's Argenta Hall, Santander's Pareda Hall in Spain, Taiwan's National Concert Hall, and Taipei's Novel Hall. Ms. Huang was the winner of the Taiwan National Instrumental Competition in 1990, 1994, and 1998. In 2000, she was the First Prize winner of the Chinese Composition Performance at the Republic of China Concerto Competition and was the winner of the 13th and 14th Chi Mei Fine Arts Scholarship in 2001 and 2002. Most recently, she appeared as a soloist with the Rutgers Symphony Orchestra under Ryan McAdams as the winner of the 2007 Rutgers University School of Music Concerto Competition. Ms. Huang received her Bachelor of Music Degree from Soochow University in Taiwan in 2002, Master of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory in 2004, and Doctorate of Musical Arts from Rutgers University in 2008.
