Ramona Merritt

RAMONA MERRITT, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, completed her Bachelor and Master of Music in Performance at North Carolina School of the Arts and the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis), respectively. Her teachers have included Roland Vamos, Sally Peck, and Li Kuo Chang. In 1994, she was chosen to participate in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Fellowship Program for two seasons.


After a one-year position with the Grand Rapids Symphony, Ramona joined the Alabama Symphony Orchetra in the fall of 1998. Ms. Merritt is the viola instructor at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. She also teaches violin and viola at the University of Montevallo, Evangel Classical and Westwood Baptist Church.
